Internal Family Systems (IFS)
IFS is an evidence-based, integrative therapy approach that looks at the ‘multiplicity’ of the mind. These are the parts of yourself that carry memories, feelings/emotions, and roles that contribute toward your overall personality. IFS could be viewed as a combination of psychoanalysis, mindfulness, narrative work, and attachment therapy.
IFS is more than psychotherapy.
It’s a compassionate way of relating to your inner world that leads to transformative healing.
Why choose IFS?
-
It is natural for the mind to be subdivided into sub-personalities, or ‘parts.’ This is not the same as a split personality disorder.
There are NO bad parts! The goal of IFS is not to eliminate a part, but rather to help those parts transform their roles within the system.
Everyone has a True Self they are born with that can and should lead the rest of the system of parts.
Changes made to the internal system will produce changes in the external system, and vice versa.
-
Recognizes and uses the ‘undamaged’ core of the True Self to help your system shift into positive roles.
Offers new ways of looking at yourself and others.
Encourages self-disclosure and personal responsibility for behavior.
Fosters compassion, respect, and trust with oneself, the therapeutic process, and others in your personal life.
Empowers you and your innate ability to take charge of your mental health.
-
Achieve balance and harmony within your inner system.
Differentiate and unblend your True Self from other parts so that your Self can be an effective, confident leader.
Use your True Self to help other parts transform their roles from extreme behavior and emotion to healthy, productive contributions to your personality.
I can personally attest to the transformative healing benefits of IFS.
I would not be endorsing this therapeutic approach if I did not 100% believe in its ability to help my clients. I have not only used IFS to help others, but I have personally reaped the benefits myself. I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that IFS is unlike any other therapy you’ve tried so far, and I would love to introduce it to you so that you can experience the same level of clarity and confidence my clients and I have gained.
